We know you trust us with your personal information when you visit or join our community, and we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to our website at www.mersistudio.com (the “Site”), and related services (the Site and related services are collectively referred to as the “Mersi Studio Services”). This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information and other data that Mersi Studio, LLC. (“Mersi Studio,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) obtains in connection with the Mersi Studio Services, how we use your personal information, with whom we share it and choices you may have regarding your personal information.

Mersi Studio Services are primarily available to artists, stylists, makeup or hair professionals and other beauty merchants and their employees (the “Artists”). Our Site is also available to individuals who may be clients of Artists or who are seeking services provided by Artists (the “Clients”). For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “you” refers to any individual Artist or Client, as appropriate.

Please keep in mind that this Privacy Policy only applies to the Mersi Studio Services provided by us and does not describe how the Artists with whom you connect may use your personal information. Please contact the Artists with whom you do business to learn about their data handling practices. In addition, we’re not responsible for the data handling practices of third party websites, apps or services, including those to which we may include links on our Site or App or that link to us. We encourage you to review the privacy policies and notices of any third party website, app or service through which you may submit your information.

Information that you give us

Artist Sign Up: If you are an Artist, you will need to sign up to create a Mersi Studio account to use the Mersi Studio Services. In connection with the account creation process, we ask you to provide us with the following information:

Name
Phone number
Email Address
Password

Once you have signed up as an Artist, you may choose to provide the following information to build your profile:

Business address and business type (e.g., hair stylist),
Cosmetology license number,
Profile picture,
Pictures or videos from your work portfolio or any other pictures or videos you choose to publish through the Site,
Your personal website URL and social media links, and
Information about your services and business, such as the name of your services, description of services, duration and price, and your business, such as your business hours, payment preferences, cancellation fees.

In addition, when you use certain Site features, you may permit through the permission systems used by your mobile device that we access (1) contacts in your address book, including their names and emails and phone numbers, and/or (2) your photos and videos.

Information About Clients

Clients may book appointments or requests services via an Artist’s personal page available through the Mersi Studio Services. In connection with the booking process, we obtain the following information from Clients:

Phone Number
Email Address
Address (if you request a house call)
Information Related To The Services Requested

If you accept to complete a survey related to the Mersi Studio Services or following an appointment with an Artist, we will obtain the information you provide in response to the survey, which may include your name, contact information, demographic data and concerns or interests related to Artists’ services (for example, your hair or skin concerns).

Information About Both Artists & Clients

We use a third party to process payments made through the Site. Our third-party payment processor, Stripe, directly obtains from Clients their payment information, including payment card number, expiration date, and authorization number or security code. With respect to Artists, our payment processor also obtains the Artist’s:

Mailing Address
Date Of Birth
Bank Account Number & Routing Number, Last Four Of Your Social Security Number, and IP Address.

Stripe’s use of your personal information is governed by their privacy policy, which is available at stripe.com/us/privacy and may be modified by Stripe from time to time.

Mersi Studio may retain certain payment information (such as the last four digits of a payment card number) to enhance Clients’ user experience and for internal purposes (such as accounting and auditing).

When you visit or use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information from your browser or mobile device, including through cookies, log files and other technologies. A cookie is a small amount of data (often including a unique identifier), that is sent to your browser from a website’s computers and stored on your computer’s hard drive or mobile device. We may use cookies to improve your experience with the Mersi Studio Services, by, for example, allowing the Site to keep you logged in, saving your Site preferences and improving the content and offerings on our Site. We may also use cookies to collect aggregate information about Site users. The information collected for these purposes (including your IP address, browser or device information and other information collected by automated means) may be disclosed to or collected directly by our third-party web analytics service providers, such as Google Analytics and Mixpanel. If you don’t want cookies, most web browsers include an option that allows you to not accept them. However, if you set your browser to refuse cookies, some portions of our Site may not function efficiently. We do not currently respond to web browser “do not track” signals on this Site.

The Site includes social media functions, such as the Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Pinterest widgets. These widgets may collect information about which pages visitors visit on the Site and the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet. The widgets may also set a cookie to ensure the features are functioning properly. In addition, Artists may choose to include links in their profile to their social media pages. Your interactions with the social media pages linked through the Mersi Studio Services are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.

If you use any of the social media functions or widgets in connection with the Mersi Studio Services, we strongly suggest you review the privacy policies of the companies that provide those functions and features. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for any acts or omissions by any social media service or other third-party service that you choose to use.

If you contact us with a question, comment or request, including by using the chat feature available on the Site, we may obtain your name, contact information and any information you may choose to submit to us.

If you choose to invite or refer a friend to use the Mersi Studio Services through our “Refer-a-Friend” feature, you may select a contact directly from the contacts list on your device and send him or her an SMS or email from your device. Alternatively, you can submit your contact’s phone number or email address and have Mersi Studio send the invite email. You understand and agree that you are responsible for any charges that apply to communications sent from your device to your contacts and that you shall only input contact’s phone or email address if you believe that they would be interested in a referral to the Mersi Studio Services.

We obtain any personal information that you may choose to include in a comment to our blog post, such as your name.

We may use the personal information we obtain for a number of purposes, including, but not limited to:

Provide you with the Mersi Studio Services, including creating and managing your account
Communicate with you about the Mersi Studio Services (including to remind you of upcoming appointments) and respond to your inquiries or requests, communicate about, and administer your participation in, special events, programs, surveys, contests, sweepstakes, and other offers or promotions
Enable you to post on our blog and interact with Mersi Studio through social media
Process payments
Send you promotional or marketing materials and other communications
Commercial or sponsored content served or enhanced by us or our third party partners (for example, we may use your profile or sample work to promote the Mersi Studio Services)
Improve the Mersi Studio Services and customize your experience, such as by providing interactive or personalized elements on the Site

We also may combine or aggregate the personal information we collect through the Mersi Studio Services for our internal business purposes and for marketing and product positioning purposes (the “Aggregated Data”). Such combined or aggregate information does not specifically identify you or any individual user of the Mersi Studio Services. For example, we may aggregate information to determine that the majority of our Artists are makeup artists versus hair stylists or to determine how many stylists in New Jersey are using the Site.

On our Site, we and third parties may collect information about your online activities to provide you with advertising about services or products tailored to your interests. You may see certain ads on other websites because we or such third parties participate in advertising networks. Ad networks track your online activities over time by collecting information through automated means, including through the use of cookies, web server logs and web beacons. The information ad networks may collect includes information about your visits to websites that participate in the relevant advertising networks, such as the pages or advertisements you view and the actions you take on the websites. This data collection takes place both on our Mersi Studio Services and on third-party websites or apps that participate in the ad networks. This process allows us and third parties to deliver more tailored advertising. In addition, it helps us track the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.

With the relevant Artists or Clients
With our affiliates and subsidiaries
With our business partners
With third parties that provide features or functionalities which we integrate into the Mersi Studio Services, such as payment processors and email/SMS communication and marketing service companies
To service providers who work on our behalf
As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, or to comply with government reporting obligations
When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary (a) to protect our rights, the integrity of the Mersi Studio Services, or your safety or the safety of others, or (b) to detect, prevent, or respond to fraud, intellectual property infringement, violations of our Terms of Use, violations of law, or other misuse of the Mersi Studio Services, and to the extent reasonably necessary to proceed with the negotiation or completion of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets (including in the event of a reorganization, dissolution or liquidation).

Mersi Studio Services may contain links to other websites, other online services for your convenience and information. These websites, and services may be operated by companies not affiliated with Mersi Studio. Linked websites, or services may have their own privacy policies or notices, which we strongly suggest you review. We are not responsible for the content and data handling practices of any third party websites, or services.

How Do We Protect Your Information?

We maintain appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to safeguard the personal information we obtain in connection with the Mersi Studio Services. However, no information system can be 100% secure. Moreover, we are not responsible for the security of information you transmit to the Site over networks that we do not control, including the Internet and wireless networks.

Within the Site, you can access your profile to update your name and contact information, payment information, and view your activity. If you cannot find the information you are looking for or make the changes you want to make in the Site, please submit a request at the contact information listed below.

We offer you certain choices in connection with the personal information we collect from you. You may choose not to receive marketing or promotional email communications from us by clicking on the unsubscribe link in our emails.

To request deletion of Personal Information you have previously provided to us, email info@mersistudio.com.

The Mersi Studio Services are not directed to, nor do we knowingly collect information from, children under the age of 13. If you become aware that your child or any child under your care has provided us with information without your consent, please contact us indicated below.

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting a new Privacy Policy on the Sit. In addition, we may alert you of material changes to this Privacy Policy by sending you notice by email to the email address you have provided to us.
